Our best beach hideaways

La Paloma, Uruguay

An hour or so away from Uruguay’s more famous beach resort of Punta Del Este. It’s much more chilled out, a lot less flashy and was a great laid-back find. The humpback whales and the seafood parilla (barbeque) were an added bonus. Great place to surf.

Port Waikato, New Zealand

I was travelling in my "Spaceship" alone across New Zealand in August (their winter). I woke up one morning in a caravan park in Port Waikato to the most beautiful sunrise. I grabbed by camera and ran barefoot onto the beach to capture the moment. Truly one of the most scenic beaches I've been to!

Matemwe, Zanzibar

This was an amazing beach in Matemwe on the island of Zanzibar - it went for miles and miles, we needed scooters to see all of it!

Somewhere near Matemwe(!), Zanzibar

A great little beach where the local artists paint and sell their unique paintings.
